In this Biosphere Reserve, xerophytes comprise more than a third of the species detected there. This is followed by deciduous forest, which accounts for a quarter, and temperate forest. Important is the presence of one of the few areas of cloud forest in the mountains.

About the event
The Last Station of the Desert (2 Days)
In the southern part of the state of Puebla, in the Tehuacán Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve, there is a municipality called Zapotitlán Salinas, where an ancient tradition of organic salt production continues.
Day 1
We leave Mexico City from your location at 9:30 am on a journey of approximately 4 hours.
We arrived to eat, and when we finished we went to check into the hotel.
Continuing the adventure, we set off on a photo hunt for marine fossils about 20 minutes away. The fossils are found along a river channel where water is scarce. Only when it rains in the nearby mountains does the flow become very strong, stirring up the soil and exposing these fossils. The hike is 2.2 km long.
