About the event
The meeting time is 4:30 am at your hotel or a point of your choice. From there we head towards Santa Cruz Texmalaquita, the last town before reaching the Encounter Valley, where we begin the hike. First, we head towards the HAWC Gamma Ray Observatory. From there, we continue along the Devil's Ridge until we reach the sandbanks located at the end of the route. From there, we find the millimeter telescope where we have lunch to descend towards the Encounter Valley.
After finishing, we headed to the town of Perote to eat at one of its restaurants. From there, we headed to Conejos to settle into our cabins. We got up at 4 a.m. to have a light breakfast.
The hike from Conejos Park, located at the foot of this mountain, takes approximately 6 to 7 hours, passing through the forested area, the Devil's Backbone, and the summit. Th…
